Scarcely functioning as a working band by the dawn of the 21st century, but still adored and applauded wherever they went, the Mission greeted the new age first with their best-in-years Aura CD, and then by dipping back into their catalog to re-record and, in some cases, reexamine their past. Aural Delight, depending upon how sacred you hold the original recordings, is either a great idea or a ghastly travesty -- one reason, perhaps, why the idea of filling an entire disc with reduxes seems to have paled after a time, prompting the band to look elsewhere for material. So a couple of B-sides, some solo Wayne Hussey material, and a Depeche Mode cover (an excellent take on "Never Let Me Down Again") join the re-versioned "Amelia," "Never Again," and "Spider and the Fly," and when it all wraps up with Hussey crooning through Elvis' "Can't Help Falling in Love with You," the feeling is almost mutual. ~ Dave Thompson, All Music Guide Tracklist: 01.
