Artist: The Rockets Title Of Album: The Rockets Year Of Release: 1968 Country: USA Label: Varese Sarabande Rec. Cat.# 302 066 269 2 Genre: Blues-Rock, Garage Rock, Psychedelic Rock Quality: MP3 Bitrate: CBR 320 kbps Total Time: 28 min 35 sec Total Size: 67 Mb (+3%) | Front/Back Although their only album is more a melange of interesting elements than a coherent whole, the Rockets' sole release does make for enjoyable, occasionally intriguing listening. Danny Whitten's "Won't You Say You'll Stay" has a downbeat introspection, and imaginative baroque'n'roll production (with harpsichords and gun-shot drum effects), that most likely appealed to Neil Young. The compositions by George and Leon Whitsell were more straightforward than the somewhat goofy, spacy musings of Whitten, sometimes digging into a pretty respectable soul-rock vibe; "I Won't Always Be Around" sounds like a white Impressions. Bobby Notkoff's swooping, whiny electric violin adds an air of unpredictability to the proceedings. ~allmusic.com Tracklist: 01. Hole In My Pocket (2:32) 02. Won't You Say You'll Stay (2:49) 03.
