On Catch 33 release, Meshuggah got a little experimental. Not that the band hasn't always pushed the boundaries of their metal (likely one of the reasons they were picked to open for Tool on tour), but this album is more than the usual departure. For this, they have come up with an extremely rewarding album.

Fans will be rabid for this album, and new listeners would also do well to start with Catch 33. It’s that good. There are plenty of bands that have followed Meshuggah’s lead, but when the originals make a statement like this, it’s hard not to sit up and take notice.
